The Problem — And the Solution
Traditional fundraising is broken. The Great School Treasure Hunt fixes it.
❌ The Problem with Traditional Fundraising
Schools Are Underfunded
Budget cuts mean most schools fundraise just to cover basics — not extras.
95% of headteachers say they raise extra income just to cover basic running costs. (NAHT, 2024)
Families Can't Always Give Cash
Bake sales, sponsored events and donation drives ask families who are already stretched.
31% of UK children live in relative poverty. 24.6% of pupils are eligible for free school meals. (DfE, 2024)
Donor Fatigue Is Real
Families asked repeatedly for money disengage over time. Participation drops. Funds dry up.
£190M raised by PTAs annually — yet traditional approaches still exclude the families who need support most. (The Times / Parentkind, 2025)
Staff Time & Admin Burden
Every traditional fundraiser adds planning, chasing and admin to an already stretched team.
Schools need a fundraiser that runs itself — not one that creates more work.
